LF stands for “Low Friction” and refers to the very low friction that occurs between the log and the harvester head in the LF series. The LF minimizes friction during feeding, maximizing the performance and efficiency of the harvester head. Trunk damage, head wear and fuel consumption are also minimized. LF harvester heads are light in weight relative to their capacity, and their compact design means they can be easily operated even in dense vegetation. The LF features four intelligent systems that help minimize friction and maximize production.

Recommendations
Carriers | |
The SP 761 LF can be mounted on a variety of carriers, such as conventional forestry machinery, excavators weighing 20-30 tons, but also medium to large tracked carriers.
Tree size | |
Proportional clamping pressure of the feed rollers with respect to the diameter of the log, individual settings for different types for optimal performance.
Optimal ppv tree size*: | 25-50 cm |
* The diameter of the chest height (ppv) is measured 1.3 m from the ground. |

FOUR SMART SOLUTIONS AND A PATENT TO INCREASE PROFITABILITY

KNIFE DESIGN
The pruning knives are cast from high-strength steel and equipped with long cutting edges. This means that the branches are trimmed and not broken off. This minimizes friction during feeding and achieves excellent branching.

PROPORTIONAL PRESSURE
Proportional pressure ensures that the harvester head automatically operates with the correct diameter. Friction between the log and the harvester head is minimized and the head can operate at full power. Individual settings with respect to the type of trees further increase productivity.

LOGHOLD
The patented LongHold ensures that the proportional pressure of the pruning knives can be reduced without the risk of the trunk falling. If the LongHold detects that the log might fall, it regulates the pressure of the blade to keep the log in the correct position. The size by which the diameter can be increased before the LogHold starts its operation is set by the control system. LongHold is integrated into the head software, and no additional pickups are required.

PROPORTIONALLY INCLINED FEED ROLLERS
Proportional angle feed rollers ensure that when the harvester head is fully open (e.g. at maximum tree size), the feed rollers provide maximum angle and transfer force in relation to the trunk. And so the bigger the trunk, the greater the strength. This means that the head transports the trunk quickly and easily, increasing production.
